No ano de 2013, a Galeria realizou exposição e lançamento do livro, em comemoração aos 50 anos de pintura do artista Luiz Áquila, o livro “Luiz Áquila Quase Tudo: A Never Ending Tour”, acompanhada da exposição no Paço Imperial, no Rio de Janeiro, contendo a retrospectiva dos grandes quadros pintados pelo Artista ao longo de sua carreira.
Já em 2023, Patricia uniu forças com Áquila mais uma vez para a exposição “Em Torno dos 80 com Luiz Áquila”, realizada na Cidade das Artes, no Rio de Janeiro. A exposição celebrou não apenas o octogésimo aniversário do pintor, mas também sua extensa carreira, juntamente com o trabalho de diversos artistas pertencentes a “Geração Oitenta”, movimento artístico ocorrido principalmente na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, que consistia no retorno à pintura.
Ao longo dos anos de carreira de Patricia Costa foram mais de 100 exposições em diversos estados, além de ter trabalhado com mais de 50 artistas, incluindo-se nesse rol os artistas mais famosos da nossa atualidade. Since 1980, gallery owner Patricia Costa e Silva has been active in the art market with contemporary artists such as Luiz Aquila, Carlos Vergara, Lucia Vilaseca, Rubens Gerchman, Monica Barki, Nelly Gutmacher, Manfredo de Souzanetto, Dolino, Ana Durães, John Nicholson, Benevento, Rubem Ludolf, Roma Drumond, Claudio Kuperman, George Iso, Ana Luiza Rego, Adriano Mangiavacchi, Luiz Pizarro, Claudia Porto, Raimundo Rodrigues, Gilvan Nunes, Rodrigo de Castro, Renata Cazzani, Maria Luisa Editore, and others.
Although her primary market is the city of Rio de Janeiro, where the Patricia Costa Gallery is based, Patricia has organized various exhibitions across Brazil, including shows of artists such as Carlos Vergara, Claudio Tozzi, Rubens Gerchman, and Granato in Brasília, São Paulo, and Bahia.
Patricia’s career began at the renowned and now-defunct Galeria Paulo Klabin. After working with multiple other galleries, she opened her own space in 2003, at Shopping Casino Atlântico, where it remains to this day, marking over 35 years in the market and more than 15 years as a gallerist.
In addition to constantly exhibiting works from the artists the Gallery represents, the Patricia Costa Gallery also manages book creation projects, such as the Rare Books exhibition from Salvador Monteiro’s collection, produced by the publisher Alumbramentos, which included works by Ana Letycia, FAYGA, Krajcberg, Di Cavalcanti, Iberê Camargo, Goeldi, and others.
In 2013, the gallery hosted an exhibition and book launch to celebrate the 50th anniversary of painter Luiz Áquila’s career. The book “Luiz Áquila Quase Tudo: A Never Ending Tour” was accompanied by an exhibition at Paço Imperial in Rio de Janeiro, showcasing a retrospective of the artist’s major paintings throughout his career.
In 2023, Patricia joined forces with Aquila once again for the exhibition “Em Torno dos 80 com Luiz Áquila” (Around the 80s with Luiz Áquila), held at Cidade das Artes in Rio de Janeiro. The exhibition celebrated not only the painter’s eightieth birthday but also his extensive career, alongside the work of various artists from the “Geração Oitenta” (The Eighties Generation), an art movement based mainly on the city of Rio de Janeiro, that involved a return to the painting form.
